Best Places to Find WoW Accounts For Sale

January 8th, 2012 by Emily Tian | Filed in Warcraft Gold

A lot of people don’t seem to realize it, but there’s really not really a lot you can buy with gold. At pretty much any time in World of Warcraft’s history the best gear has been bind upon pickup –meaning that you can’t buy it or sell it, you have to actually earn it yourself. Yes, there’s always also been good gear that was close to the best that you could buy and sell, but it’s always been limited to a handful of equipment slot machines. Even if you were to buy literally everything that isn’t BoP which would be an upgrade for you, you’d still have at least half of your equipment slots filled with quest greens.

Take a minute and look up the armory profiles of the top players on your server. It doesn’t matter if you’re checking PvE or PvP, you’ll almost certainly find that virtually every piece of gear they wear was BoP. They get that gear because they down the bosses/win the rateds, not the other way around. As discussed, most gold originates from stolen accounts. While some accounts are stolen through old-fashioned social engineering, the majority come from malware installed on your computer. The way it works is simple — you go to the a web site owned by the thief and something installs on your computer without a person even knowing it. That something then waits until you type in your password and then sends it back to the gold vendor.

When that happens the account usually gets banned and it requires a phone call to Blizzard to get it activated again. This isn’t too bad, but is a hassle and there is no guarantee that they are going to activate the account. Plus if you figure that the legitimate sellers buy these accounts for so cheap then there must be a much better place to purchase your account from. There are a few online account auctions where you can usually get the accounts a little cheaper than the regular sites selling them.

A lot of the Wow accounts in these auctions are overpriced as well. People observe sites selling an account comparable to theirs for $1000 and think they can sell theirs for the same. If you keep your eye out there you can find good deals on these sites however. There is still the issue about the ip address, but since you are contacting who owns the account directly they can often handle any problems much easier than you can.

A while ago there was a pretty common spam in trade chat–someone wanted to sell a recruit a friend mount for in game gold. If I only played on one machine or only saw it a couple times I’d have assumed it was perfectly innocent. I play on a few servers, though, and saw the exact same message in multiple trade chats, so I did some research. Here’s how this one worked. The gold seller sells the actual mount for whatever insanely high price is agreed on. Once you buy the mount from them, they sign up–using a stolen charge card. You get your mount, though you lose it in a couple days when the “friend” that you recruited is banned as all they do is stand around capitol cities spamming gold crap. And where did the credit card came from? Well, from former customers of that Wow gold seller. Turns out giving your billing data to admitted thieves is probably not a great idea.

Seeking good Wow gold seller? Why don’t you have a look at gamer vip?
